Continued profitable growth both nationally and internationally
Statkraft's strategy aims for continued profitable growth, both nationally and internationally, within environmentally friendly and flexible energy production. In recent years, we have strengthened our international position through the asset swap with E.ON and an increased ownership interest in SN Power. In 2009, we invested heavily in both land-based and offshore wind power, and initiated the construction of a hydropower plant in Turkey.
Our current position as Europe's largest within renewable energy is based on our Norwegian resource base and the development of expertise over many years. Statkraft will further develop its position as Europe's leading producer of renewable power, and develop new positions in selected markets outside Europe, including:
be a driving force in the development of the Norwegian power industry, and through this work create profitable jobs and contribute to meeting the need for more pure energy
grow within flexible power production in Western Europe and further expand our business in trading with power and CO2 quotas
establish a strong position in international hydropower as well as within other renewable energy sources in Europe
